What is Medical Direction?
Medical direction provides physician oversight for all aspects of EMS operations, including:
- Offline (Indirect) Medical Direction: Development and maintenance of standardized protocols, standing orders, training programs, quality assurance (QA), and performance improvement processes.
- Online (Direct) Medical Direction: Real-time consultation from trained Emergency Medicine physicians for complex or critical cases via radio, phone, or other communication.
MEP Health’s board-certified emergency physicians bring fellowship-trained expertise, active involvement in local/regional/state/national EMS initiatives, and a commitment to innovative prehospital medicine.
